This 15-year-old is breaking Tiger's records

Good morning, and welcome to the Breakfast Ball, where we serve up an all-you-can eat spread of golf news!
Here’s a look at today’s menu:
Someone needs to test Scottie Scheffler for PED’s
Nelly Korda’s historic run continues
Miles Russell might be the next Tiger Woods
Someone stole Arnie’s 1958 Green Jacket from Augusta National
Someone needs to test Scottie Scheffler for PED’s
There are 3 holes left in the RBC Heritage’s weather-delayed final round, but it’s likely that by the time you’re reading this, Scottie Scheffler already won.
With that being said, let’s just act as if it’s over already (because it is).
This’ll be Scottie’s 4th win in his last 5 starts, and all 4 wins were either a signature event or a major. Seriously though, wtf is going on.
There was actually hope that someone else would win this week, but Scottie shot a 63 on Saturday and then did this on the 2nd hole on Sunday ↓
Expect anything different?

It was at that point that those who didn’t think it was over yet knew it was over. 4th win in his last 5 starts, and the non-win was a 2nd place finish. Thanks for coming.
It’s actually too bad, because Scottie is depriving us of must-watch TV. Subtract Scottie, and we have 10 guys within 1 shot with 7 holes to play ↓

So it’s fair to bear the question — is Scottie Scheffler bad for golf? 😂
Let’s go through some of his mind-blowing stats from 2024:
He has SIX rounds with 8+ birdies since Jan. 1, 2024 and ZERO rounds over par in that same span.
He’s led/co-led after 33 rounds since the start of 2022, which is 15 more than any other player in that stretch.
He’s beaten 541/542 (99.82%) of the players in his last 5 events. The only person who beat him was Stephen Jaeger at the Houston Open, thanks to Scottie missing this putt on the 72nd hole ↓

This is an all-time run no matter how you look at it. It’s also funny because when you watch him, you realize he doesn’t have the flashy wow-factor like a Tiger, Rory or Phil; it’s almost a little boring.
He just hits every fairway, then every green, makes a few putts and somehow shoots -4 or better like every day. I’ve never seen anyone make golf look easier than Scottie Scheffler.
Nelly Korda’s historic run continues

Don’t let Scottie Scheffler winning 4 of his last 5 tournaments including a major distract you from the fact that Nelly Korda just won her FIFTH straight at the LPGA’s first major of the year.
She had a 3 shot lead with 4 to play, and unlike Scottie, she wanted to keep the TV viewers engaged. So on the 15th hole, she put one in the water and made bogey.
We all knew she was still going to win, but at least we had a little bit of drama down the stretch.
Since 2000, only 2 women have won in 5 straight starts, including a major:
Annika Sorenstam
Nelly Korda
So the GOAT, and Nelly Korda. Decent company.
We all use financial advisors to manage our money, and we’re thrilled when they yield us a 10% annual ROI. But who needs Blackstone or Apollo when you have Scottie Scheffler and Nelly Korda playing golf every week.
Advice: parlay Scottie and Nelly to win every week, which will yield you a 3000% weekly ROI 😂
And if you like to play it safe, then just parlay Scottie and Nelly to top 10 every week. That’s roughly 350% weekly ROI.
We’re kidding (sort of), but I really hope Nelly’s win streak continues for a long time.
Miles Russell might be the next Tiger Woods
Ok, not actually. No one can be the next Tiger. But Let’s call a spade a spade here: Miles Russell is a problem. The 15-year-old is as good a prospect as we’ve seen in years.
In his 14-15 year old summer, he won all the top junior events in the US, and became the youngest ever to win the AJGA Player of the Year award, breaking Tiger’s record. Keep in mind, all his competitors were 18-year-olds in their summer before college.

Russell with with AJGA POTY trophy
It’s not often we hear that anyone broke one of Tiger’s records, so we have no choice but to take this kid seriously.
Fun fact — here’s the list of everyone who’s sponsored by both Nike and TaylorMade:
Tiger Woods (formerly), Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Nelly Korda, Tommy Fleetwood and… Miles Russell. He became the youngest golfer ever to sign NIL deals with both Nike and TM last year. Seems legit.
He was given a sponsors exemption into a Korn Ferry Tour event last week, and he did not disappoint.
15-year-old Miles Russell will be teeing it up at the LECOM Suncoast Classic 🏌️♂️
Miles is the No. 1 player on @AJGAGolf and will become the third-youngest player to compete in a Korn Ferry Tour event.

He went 68-66 in rounds 1 & 2, becoming the youngest ever to make a cut on the KFT. In case you were curious to know if he could handle adversity, the 15-year-old was 4-over through 3 holes on Saturday, and still shot 70.
A Sunday 66 later, and Miles notched a T20 finish and gained exemption for next week’s KFT event.
I wonder how his high school teachers feel about him missing so much school.
Now, without further ado, here’s this week’s golf stonks 📈📉

They’re prettttttty self-explanatory.
Someone stole Arnie’s 1958 Green Jacket from Augusta National
A former Augusta National worker managed to steal millions of dollars in merch and memorabilia from the club over a 13 year span.
Among the items he stole was Arnold Palmer’s Green Jacket from his 1958 Masters win.
An Augusta National member took matters into his own hands, joining forces with a well-known collector and the FBI to track down the jacket and return it to the club.
They found the guy who was holding the jacket, agreed to “buy” it for $3.6 million, and in 2022 when the men met to make the exchange, FBI agents swarmed them, seizing the jacket and returning it to ANGC.
The thief has been ordered by a federal court to forfeit any property and cash he earned from selling the items.
Imagine how deranged you have to be to not only steal millions in merch, but also steal Arnold Palmer’s Green Jacket. Like, at least steal Patrick Reed’s. Come on man 😂

Quick Bites 🥓
Gordon Sargent made a very uncommon career decision 👀
College players who are THAT good almost never finish their degree. Once they realize they’re good enough, they turn pro immediately (and rightfully so).
Recent examples include Nick Dunlap and Ludvig Åberg.
With his TOUR card locked up, this is a very mature and patient move by Sargent, who by the way, is gonna be the longest hitter on TOUR in 2025.
.@VandyMGolf Junior @GordonSargent5 announces he'll return for his senior year.
Sargent has earned a @PGATOUR card through PGA TOUR U Accelerated, and will be able to accept that after completing his season in May 2025.

TaylorMade’s retro collection is 🔥
I’m a die-hard Titleist hardo, but I can’t help but acknowledge how sick TM’s new retro collection is.

Above is their retro P770 irons — that copper finish is just too sick 😮💨
