Tiger scouts Pinehurst 🐅

Since it’s the week before the US Open, we all know what that means: we get Tiger-scouting-a-major-venue content.

He made the short trip to North Carolina to get an early practice round in at Pinehurst on Tuesday ↓

I’m not sure if it’s actually true or I’m just hopelessly delusional, but Tiger looking to be in better health at his charity event last week has me thinking he can be competitive-ish at the US Open.

We also got blessed with a pic of Tiger smoking a cigar in a Vegas casino with Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine ↓

Crazy finish for the final US Open spot 🇺🇸

Every year, a week before the tournament, the USGA holds their final 36 hole qualifiers around the country for the last guys to play their way into the US Open.

It’s such a cool day because you have random amateurs playing in the same group as guys like Adam Scott and Joaquin Niemann (P.S. Niemann lost to an amateur and didn’t qualify).

Adam Scott found himself in a playoff for the final US Open spot with Cam Davis. What happened on the second playoff hole is must-watch ↓

Davis won the fourth playoff with a birdie, ending Scott’s streak of 91 straight major appearances (RIP).

Jason Day’s drip 💧

We’ve spoken a lot about Jason Day’s outfits this year and with good reason — they’ve been crazy.

He reallllly tested his limits during the Wednesday practice round at the Memorial by wearing… a bathing suit. No, I’m not joking ↓

And the way he’s going about this week’s Memorial Tournament, which is a home game for him, might be even crazier ↓

Gotta respect that level of dedication. This guys nuts and he rocks. Anyways, here are our top-4 favorite JDay outfits from ‘24 so far ↓

Buffet Bets 💰

We have two big-time tournaments this week: the Memorial on the PGA Tour, and LIV Houston.

Speaking of both tours, yesterday, Rory said that 2026 is a good timeline for a re-unification of professional golf. Merger incoming? 👀

Pleaaaaase let it be true. We need Bryson back on national TV every weekend, rather than a YouTube stream or the CW app.

Anyways, both courses put a serious premium on the approach game, and you don’t necessarily need to be a long-hitter to contend (accuracy over distance this week, although extra distance always helps).

So without further ado, here’s what we’re taking this week, aka what you should be fading:

Our favorite-favorite: Scottie Scheffler (+400) — we can say this about most courses, but Muirfield Village might be the most perfect of them all for the world number 1. Last year at MVGC, he had the second best ball-striking week of all time, gaining 20.69 strokes on the field tee-to-green over the week.

Our-favorite-non-Scottie-favorite: Collin Morikawa (+1700) — fits the mold perfectly. He’s been turning it up at all the big events this year and has still yet to break through. I have a feeling this is his week.

Our obvious LIV favorite: Bryson Dechambeau (+750) — this one’s half emotional, half using my brain. He had a 9.9/10 showing at the PGA, and he claims to have straightened out his driver since. Surely he can win LIV Houston if he finished 2nd at the PGA without his best stuff. Plus, the new stache is 🔥

Bobby Mac is a legend 🍻

Firstly, I’d like to shout out my buddy who hit big on a Bobby MacIntyre outright bet last week. Check the slip ↓

Anyways, Bobby decided to withdraw from this week’s Memorial Tournament, which has a purse of 20 million dollars, to go home to Scotland and party for the week.

No beer is safe in Oban, Scotland until further notice 😂
