One week a year, we get international team golf. Yes, yes, the better of the two by a mile is the Ryder Cup, but don’t let that distract you from the fact that the Presidents Cup is a blast too.
The boys will be taking on the Royal Montreal Golf Club this week, even though it’s not even in Montreal (my hometown btw).
On a good day, without traffic, it’s a 50 minute drive to Royal from downtown. This week however ↓
Traffic situation has been brutal all week at the Presidents Cup with construction on the Île-Bizard Bridge, which leads to Royal Montreal. Took the International team almost 90 minutes to get back to hotel. Not ideal.

Disaster. I will say, it’s nice watching my worlds collide. Like seeing the fellas attend a Habs game was awesome ↓

Anyways, the last (and only) time the International team won the Presidents Cup was in 1998 — the same year Min Woo Lee and Sungjae Im were born, and four years before Tom Kim was born.
Let that sink in. The Americans are 10-0-1 in the last 11 Presidents Cups (tied in 2003). 2015 and 2019 were essentially the only two times it’s been close since, but the Internationals choked Sunday leads both times.
The good news is that the internationals only ever keep it close on their own soil, so we might actually get a close tournament this weekend.
The course itself is pretty benign compared to what we get to watch on TV week in, week out. But don’t let that fool you.

Just because it’s boring to the eye, doesn’t mean it’s not a phenomenal golf course. It’s boring, but in a really good way, and also has some of the best greens on planet earth.
Here are Thursday’s four-ball matches ↓
Tomorrow's four-ball matches are locked in at Royal Montreal! 🔥

All I ask is that it’s still a competition come Sunday, because I’ll boots on ground.
P.S. Shoutout Min Woo. He knows what’s up ↓

2024 sucked for Rory McIlroy 👎
I’d like to preface what’s to come by saying this: it’s all relative.
He’s consistently been a top 3 player in the world since 2010, but the last three seasons have just felt a little different.
He won three times in 2024, which for pro golfers not named Scottie Scheffler, is pretty damn good.
He also came tremendously close to winning multiple majors in both 2022 and 2023, and we all know what happened at the US Open this year.
But my goodness. His last two weeks were painful. He was in firm control of the Irish Open in his backyard (literally) until Rasmus Hoojgard birdied his last four holes to steal the win.
Then last weekend, he eagled 17 to get into a playoff, then birdied both the first and second playoff hole, but lost to an eagle.
The best thing you'll see today. 💛

He’s the only golfer in the world who ‘loses’ golf tournaments. He gets held to standards nobody else is, as a result of how frequently he is in contention. 2025 can’t go any worse… right?
Rahmbo doesn’t give a f&$% 😂
Even though the DP World Tour both didn’t want him there and fined the living crap out of him, Jon Rahm showed up to the Spanish Open this week ready to win.
🚨🇪🇸⛳️ #NEW: Jon Rahm arrived at the Spanish Open with it being revealed that his wife Kelley gave birth to the couple’s 3rd child just prior to his departure.

He also said he’s going to try to find a way to play events on the PGA TOUR & DP World Tour again in 2025, in addition to his LIV schedule. Guy has stopped giving a f*ck, and I’m all for it.
This begs the question of “free movement” across tours. Imagine Scottie, Xander and Rory could just show up at a LIV event every now and then, or the same with Bryson, Brooks and Cam Smith.
I have no doubt whatsoever that if a top player wanted to play a small amount of LIV events they would accommodate them somehow. No chance Greg Norman would just be like “nope, sorry Scottie”… right?
Regardless, apparently the PGA and PIF are finally getting close to an agreement. Adam Scott said “optimistic for 2026, realistic is 2027”. We’re almost #back y’all.

I’m not even going to give you the shpiel. You know by now if you’re gonna tail or fade me, so let’s get right into some picks ↓
The favorites: USA x Jon Rahm (+500) — I swear, this has to be a lock. The Spanish Open has a solid field, but Rahmbo winning would be poetic justice. And as for the Presidents Cup… 10-0-1 is all you need to know.
Single whale: International team -3.5 points (-110) — I’m not really sure how you can pass on this. In the last two Presidents Cups on International soil, the Americans have won by two points or less. Worth the shot!
Thursday matches lay: Schauffele/Finau x Im/Kim x Matsuyama/Conners (+900) — I have absolutely no reason why. Pure gut feeling. I’ll sprinkle.

Flashback to when Tiger smoked this 5-wood from 238 at the 2013 Presidents Cup. Soooooooooooooo good.
So good he chased after it.

Quick bites 🥓
The last time they were here: at the 2007 Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal, Canadian Mike Weir beat prime Tiger in front of his home crowd.
“The price is wrong, bitch!”: some leaked footage of Adam Sandler on the set of Happy Gilmore 2.
Not close enough: Bryson and the Bob Does Sports guys came this close to breaking 50.
