Rory is SO back

Rory just won for the 4th time at Quail Hollow, and he did it in dominant fashion. By the way, that’s back-to-back wins for the Northern Irishman 👀

He three-putted the 7th hole and then decided to go 8-under over his next 8, leaving the field in the dust.

Oh and by the way, this marks the first time we hit an outright bet (+750); I knew Rory was gonna do it this week 💰

Here’s a fun fact for you:

Oh, and on top of that…

The PGA Championship should be a banger 🍿

Anthony Kim vs. Brandel Chamblee

The golf world has a general opinion that Brandel Chamblee follows all of Rory’s opinions.

Well, last week, Brandel completed the 180° and joined Rory on the pro-merger front.

Didn’t have what comes next on my 2024 bingo card, but here we go: Anthony Kim, from left field, ripped Brandel a new one for his change of opinion

AK landed the first punch with that strongly worded tweet, but Brandel actually might’ve won this Twitter boxing match.

The tweet was far too long to include, but he basically says AK knows nothing and tells him to stay in his lane. Once that diffused, AK started engaging with random people…

And as you can see above, it didn’t go so well for him 💀

Jason Day has elite golf style

Since Jason Day signed with Malbon Golf late last year, his outfits have stirred up substantial controversy. Personally though, I think he’s been dripping.

Some are better than others. For example, what he wore on Thursday at the Masters wasn’t necessarily for me (or any of us), to the point where Augusta National literally told him “never wear that shit around here again”

BUT, what he wore on Friday at the Wells Fargo was some Michelin star material

If he was in Mykonos, he’d fit in perfectly with that outfit 😂

Phil Mickelson: YouTuber?

Phil was über-active in Twitter reply threads this week.

First up, it was a lot of words so I’ll spare y’all the long read, but Phil argued that golf was broken and is now in the process of being fixed.

Here’s my take, bare with me here: before LIV came into the picture, pro golf definitely needed a severe revamp, but wasn’t necessarily broken.

LIV drama essentially broke golf, but the changes that will ensue (the merger) will 100% better the state of the pro game.

On top of that, some dude tweeted that when Phil retires, he’ll be the best TV analyst in golf. Here’s what Phil had to say about that

So what I take from this is that Phil is gonna start a YouTube channel, play matches against some normal guys like us, and chirp them the whole time.

SIGN. ME. UP.

GOATee Tiger at Valhalla

The Big Cat popped into Valhalla on Sunday evening ahead of the PGA Championship

No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. We have GOATee Tiger on our hands this week.

Tiger’s facial hair situation shouldn’t have any effect on my life, but somehow it has me extra hyped up for the PGA Championship.

Xander’s controversial relief

On Thursday, Xander missed a fairway by 40 yards, got free relief from a fence, and then more relief from a shot-link tower.

He ended up with a straight forward chip, completely free of charge. What was going to be a double ended up being a stress-free par.

Xander’s ball up against a fence, then the free relief he received

The reality is that there’s too much blame going towards Xander. Any player in his position would take the relief.

But, it’s absolutely nuts that they granted that much relief. It happens all the time. Golf’s rule makers needa adjust relief rulings because the current ones are absolute garbage.

One of the coolest golf photos EVER

Just when you thought that St. Andrews couldn’t get anymore magical, I present to you: the northern lights over the Old Course on Friday 😮‍💨

Quick Bites 🥓

Dude drives the green on a long par 4: and it’s not what you’d expect…

You gotta check out Jim Nantz’s backyard: both of Nantz’s homes have mini Augusta National holes in the backyard, and they’re every golfers’ dream.

Be more like Seve and Trevino: Seve playing out the deep scrub, then Trevino explaining how to play from a fairway divot. No complaining or looking for relief, just a couple legends playing the ball as it lies.
