There’s no need to get into the whole legal aspect of it, but just know that all charges have been dropped and Scottie Scheffler is a free man.

The most notable part of the whole thing was how pissed his attorney was; he was yelling in his interview, “it was a false arrest” and “don’t talk to the police”. Yikes.

To be fair, Scottie did nothing even remotely close to deserving what happened to him. I watched all the available footage and I know those who have seen the footage will agree.

Anyways, I’m glad we don’t have to talk about this anymore. Back to golf.

First up, it’s worth mentioning that Nelly is going for a 7th win in her last 8 starts this week, AND back-to-back majors at the US Women’s Open.

With a win, she’ll become the all-time leader for money earned in a season on the LPGA Tour. We’re halfway through the year, in case you didn’t realize. Wtf man 😂

Next, Lexi Thompson announced that she’s retiring at the end of the season. For context, she’s only 29 year old.

She has 18 US Open appearances before the age of 30. That’s a record that’ll never be broken.

Finally, we saved the juiciest bit for last: an LPGA player hacking darts on the course at the US Women’s Open.

A grown-ass person smoking a cigarette shouldn’t be such an exciting event, but for some reason, every time a pro golfer whips out a cig and starts hacking away, it gets traction.

The tournament’s being held at Hamilton Golf Club, which is a top-5 course in Canada. It’s relatively short, but still an absolute beauty of a track.

Our favorite favorite: Rory McIlroy (+400) — So I’m starting to notice a trend of recent; when Scottie isn’t in the field, Rory wins. Also, Rory’s rounded into some solid form, winning two of his last three, and also dominated at Hamilton GC in 2019. Lay the hammer 🔨

Our favorite favorite (but LPGA edition): Nelly Korda (+350) — Not gonna bother explaining this one. Either you’re on the bandwagon already or you hate making money.

The favorite favorite parlay: Rory & Nelly both to win (+2150) — Look, we might not be the sharpest tools in the shed, but… yea there’s no but.

Angel Cabrera is back 👀

So Angel Cabrera is making a comeback after serving 30 months in jail on domestic violence charges.

The two-time major champ from Argentina has been granted a visa to the U.S & plans to move to Texas to compete on the Champions Tour. This should be interesting 🍿
