Tiger to the Champions Tour? 🐅

The hope of Tiger lifting a trophy again someday is SO back.

The US Open felt like a grim week for Tiger fans. Yet another MC, and no real sign that he’s anywhere close to sharp enough to win again.

This news brightened up my Monday afternoon

Time to reset that major count to zero and rack up some senior majors. I’m all in on this idea.

Imagine the viewership numbers on a Tiger-Ernie-Striker-Paddy final round at a senior major?! Gonna be so sick.

Mind blowing golf facts 🤯

The PGA Tour dropped this tweet yesterday, and it brought some mind-blowing Tiger facts that seem fake, but are real

I figured I’d share the top-3 I found:

  1. Tiger’s iconic chip-in on the 16th at Augusta was the only time he holed from off the green that entire season — a season where he won the Masters, the Open, and six total times on the PGA Tour.

  1. Tiger didn’t miss a cut on the PGA Tour for SEVEN straight years. WHAT?!

  1. From GOAT to GOAT — get ready for this one:

Miles Russell PGA Tour debut 👀

Two months ago, I wrote about Miles Russell becoming the youngest to ever make a cut on the Korn Ferry Tour.

In his 14-15 year old summer, he won all the top junior events in the US, and became the youngest ever to win the AJGA Player of the Year award, breaking Tiger’s record.

Keep in mind, all his competitors in these AJGA events are 18-year-olds in their summer before college.

Miles, now 15, makes his PGA TOUR debut this week in Detroit.

The most impressive part is that he isn’t dominating his age because of an early growth spurt, which is something that happens more often than you’d expect. In reality, he’s just really fucking good.

If there’s a way to bet on him making the cut this week, I’ll be taking it.

Buffet bets 💰

As you already know, I’ve been on an absolute heater in golf betting over the last 6-7 weeks.

Unfortunately, the Rocket Mortgage Classic doesn’t have the most enticing field, which gives me less motivation to go crazy on placing bets this week.

But, we can’t leave you empty handed, so here are our three favorite bets this week:

Our two outright picks in Detroit: Cam Young (+1700) & Akshay Bhatia (+2100) — look, these aren’t exactly the hottest of takes, but the reason I picked them is pretty self-explanatory. I also liked Mark Hubbard, but I’m not THAT much of a savage. Maybe a lil’ sprinkle at +6700.

The top-20 lay: Tom Kim x Mark Hubbard (+520) — I just have a strong hunch about Hubbs this week. Tom Kim is playing great golf and is the favorite to win, so I definitely see him finishing top-20 as well. Love this one. Hammer.

The rare senior play: Padraig Harrington to win the US Senior Open (+850) — coming off a win last week on the Champions Tour, Paddy, the longest player on the senior tour, will thrive in a US Open set up. The extra distance this week will help a lot, and man can he roll the rock.

Quick bites 🥓

CB1 is addicted to golf: Jets CB Sauce Gardner has been playing some golf, and for someone so new, he ain’t all that bad. He even said “Golfing is the only thing that I've ever been addicted to😂”. Same Sauce, same.

LIV gets dropped: The tour’s Friday coverage outlet dropped them from streaming coverage due to a “lack of profitability”. Damn.

Charley Hull is special: The LPGA star signed a fans cigarette at the Women’s PGA Championship last week. Nails.
